Ashland had every chance but had five turnovers and missed the tying field goal by inches short. 
 

Lawerence County moved the ball when they had to and, at times had trouble capitalizing on Ashland’s turnovers but got just enough to pull out the win. 

Lawrence is a top 10 3A football team. And they showed that tonight. Ashland looked sloppy, but they were out-athleted. Lawrence couldn’t stop the run, but LC is a top 3A team.

Ashland did look sloppy.  3 lost fumbles and 2 INTs. “Coach killers”.  And a turnover on downs late in the 4th quarter. That’s 6 total turnovers. 
 

On kickoffs, LC gave Ashland two possessions starting at midfield.

They lost at least two in the red zone. LC also had two in the red zone. It is quite clear that Lawrence is dangerous offensively. Going from shotgun empty running vertical to flex bone and running rocket toss will cause DCs to have a headache. 
 

Lawrence defensively needs work in their front 6. If they want to make a run, they have to stop the run. 

Lawrence has a really good shot at going undefeated in the regular season.

I didn't watch a lot but they looked solid to me and everyone looked in shape.

Their QB is an absolute dream for a HS coach. Very accurate and can make plays with his feet. They have some good targets and a run game that is fully capable of keeping the chains moving and chewing clock when they need it.

If they can take care of business the next two weeks the Bulldogs may be a big fly in the RPI ointment forcing teams to come to Louisa.

I don’t think LC has the overall defense to be a legit title threat, but that offense is efficient enough to be a real problem. The ability to extend drives and string together multiple first downs while chewing the play clock is an absolute upset alert on the right night in late fall.
