Week 1: These two teams have played many times back when they were both in 6A.  Now, the battle of the Cardinals returns after a five-year hiatus.  The Cardinals from Georgetown are 11-0 over the Cardinals from Winchester since 2010.

Hear from Jim McKee, Joe Chirico and a few of the players - including SC's Timmy Emongo and GRC's Stryker Davidson - that will be front and center in this year's edition of the 'Battle of Elkhorn Cree

Scott county defensively will be tough to crack this year, and while GRC is decent they don’t have the talent to stop the stars that the cardinals have.

The only way I can see GRC winning is Scott county fumbling the football. They had two fumbles last night vs Louisville central, so they don’t look as disciplined with the ball compared to most cardinal teams so far.

Scott County incorporated some spread last night. They did very basic route concepts to avoid getting too much on tape, but if they have Timmy emongo, juju Harmon, Anderson Owens, and Keller furnish as their wrs not many teams can cover all of them on any given play.

GRC has some firepower on their team as well and they stuck around with Corbin for a decent amount of the game. Varsity lost 23-13(unconfirmed) to the redhounds, but allegedly Corbin was not showing their full hand. It’ll be interesting to see how they come out, surely this game is seen as huge for the program if they’re able to win.

This game will be close for a half I believe, but McKee and his cards have always had GRCs number, and there’s not much expected to change this year

Cards 27

GRC 6

GLICOD does great work.

10 minutes till kickoff. Scott County has not lost to GRC since McKee has lead the cards.

GRC jumped offsides first play, Anderson Owen’s 30 yard sweep on play 2.

Touchdown cards. Only one player on O did anything that drive. Everyone knew timmy was getting the ball on the sweep and he still scored.

7-0 Scott county

8:04 in first

GRC had deep kickoff return to Scott county 12. First and goal at 1. Hard to give this elite defense a chance if you give up stuff like that.

Scott co gets the PAT block.

7-6 with 6 to go in first Q

Scott county TE gets interfered with on a throw, no call. Pretty obvious miss. Next play he gets the ball and gets tackled early. Flicks ball down field in frustration and gets a flag.

GRC gets ball on punt at the 50.

GRC fumbles the ball on a catch, but a whistle stops the clear Scott county recovery from happening??

not sure what the rule is in highschool, but it was a clear fumble and recovery by SC. GRC got their gain of 5 somehow.

Ball don’t lie.

ball intercepted on 3rd down by Asher brewer. One of the best at picking the ball off in Kentucky. Scott county ball on their 43 with 4:10 left on first

You can’t hit Scott county’s star player late out of bounds when you have the stop. GRC mental error puts Scott county at the GRC 25

7-6 Scott county 57 seconds left in first
