Sacred Heart 64 Notre Dame Academy 45

Featured Replies

Sacred Heart is on a roll, dispatching NKY's best (well, maybe Boone County would have something to say about that) easily.

Any info on this game?

oldguy, where you at? We need info on this one, 19 pt blowout, wow!!

SH, Very quick, very athletic, great size and playing with great team play. Campbell scored at will but also dished the ball to the open players. Pretty tough combination to beat. Very solid win against NDA.

Good luck to all of those who have to play them in the near future.

Darn 3ptshooter, I didn't get home until around 11 or so, and found our heat pump not working, then this morning, I find it was just a bad circuit breaker. Got to take care of the family first..... hope you understand..............................

It was really worse than a 19 point blow out. NDA was as cold as my house got lat night, but it was in large part due to SH playing a great game. Campbell I believe scored 20 and Dickman and Drees scored 14 and 11 respectfuly (again I think). This is the second time this season I have seen SH play and they are the real thing....

Why NDA would schedule a game against a tough team a hour and a half away, after playing a cupcake team the night before just makes me wonder. NDA must understand that when they play the big girls they must bring their "A" game as teams like SH aren't going to be beaten by just showing up like Campbell was on Friday.....

Drees and Dickman both played well, but the rest of the team, they just didn't show up to play......

SH is just so much quicker and deeper than NDA and after the Pandas did a number on the Valkyrie last year at the Ky Preps Plus Classic, I am sure SH was out for some revenge.....

BTW while SH gym is nothing to write home about, and in fact it is rather small, the banners hanging from the ceiling can and do speak volumes. Those Sweet Sixteen State Tournament Championship banner telling the visitors that SH won the whole show in 2002, 2003 and 2004 sure look nice hanging there....and can intimidate anyone, I am sure....

I have always wondered why the NKY teams travel 1/2/3 hrs to play in KY when there are some very good Cinti teams that I would think would love to play NDA, Boone and others.

Boone will find out about SH in a few.

If Boone doesn't find the answer to playing as a team the whole game they will get their hats handed to them by Sacred Heart. It is frustrating to see Boone play so well in stretches then play like they have never seen a basketball in others. Those stretches when they seem like they could be unbeatable are a pleasure to watch then the next 5 minutes you want to throw up with some of the unforced turnovers, missed layups, ill advised shots, and standing around. Oh well we will see who shows up against SH and if we are ready for tournament time by then.

You know the Sacred Heart team has a little history to live up to when you walk into their gym.

I think if you want statewide reginition you must play the Louisville/Lexington area schools. The downstate people couldn't care less if you play the very best Cincinnati schools because don't know anything about them. Playing one is fine, but more than that just hurts your ststewide recognition if you are from NKY.

I disagree! State wide recognition, to me anyway, is like putting importance on the Lit/Cantrell rankings. If you speaking of individual recognition, the players who are good are already known around the state thanks to the age of computers.

Must be a improved Sacred Heart team after Notre Dame handled them easily last season by about 15.

No, not really. Saw both games, and the difference is in bringing your "A" game. First game on a neutral floor SH didn't, the next game at SH, NDA didn't. When you play the better teams, you must be ready...

I didn't mean that NDA shouldn't play downstate teams, although 3ptshooter brought up a rather good point, what I meant was that the Campbell County game shouldn't have been played the night before. It's tough to play a team the night before, that you literally only have to show up to beat, then the next night, have to play (IMO) the best team in the Commonwealth.

I really don't think there was need to say that about Campbell County. They are a tough little team. Yes, I realize that Notre Dame And Boone County are the top 2 teams in Northern Kentucky. But, I think by saying that, you are degrading the Lady Camels' team. And I can guarantee that those girls work just as hard on the floor as Notre Dame girls do.

:sssh: That kind of thinking will get a team a long way come tournament time. I hope if you have a daughter on the team that you don't encourage her to think like that. That will cost her team district and regional titles for sure. Just look what happened last year.

I thought the Campbell County team gave a tremendous effort. Very little subbing on their side against the run and gun offense of NDA is tough.
