The Lakers led 18-16 after one and managed to have it in single digits midway through the fourth, but it ultimately ends up a Bowling Green victory as suspected. The Purples are through to their 12th consecutive region final, extending their own record. The previous record was just seven. It’s the 17th region title appearance in the last 18 years for Bowling Green. 

The Purples found their groove after the 1Q.

 

I was pretty impressed with Russell County honestly.  They outplayed BG in that first quarter and if not for a long-banked buzzer-beating 3 would have had a 5-point lead going to the 2nd.  But I also think that shot kind of woke BG up too as I'm sure they got a stern talking to on the sideline between the 1Q and 2Q.

Russell County had 2 really nice players and tip of the cap as they never quit and played hard all the way.  Nice season Russell County!

On to a very good Clinton County team!  Should be a great game!

How much size does BG have?  This Clinton Co. team is physically very strong, and can beat you up on the inside.  I'm sure it'll be contrasting styles.

Not very much Lethal.  Clinton County will have the size advantage, while BG will press and try to make their speed advantage count.  Should be a great game!

I know these Clinton coaches, and what they've done this season has been special.  I was told they haven't been to a regional final since 1960 (that being in the 5th region).  If their guards can handle aforementioned pressure, they will make it a ballgame.  BG could also blitz them, and run away with it.

I'm impressed with this Clinton County team.  It's what high school basketball is all about.  Great story.

I think BG will get Clinton County's best game and it will be a tight one, especially early.
