According to the article, deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder will cost him the remainder of the year.  Clots are nothing to mess with, especially that close to the heart area.   let's hope they get a handle on it and he's good to go for next year and beyond.

End of a very impressive era... although, like most in sports, I wish he'd gone a few years ago and been a little less grumpy.

They've only announced he's done for the season, not for his career. Though they do say his long-term situation is up in the air.

I saw that too, and hopefully I'm wrong, but a stroke, at his age, high stress job, etc.
