Danville Christian Academy 56 Lyon County 53 (Class A State Championship)

Titus Boyd named MVP of the tournament.  

This was the first time in the tournament's history in which the boy's and girl's team from the same school won their respective championships.

Repping the 12th Region well in 2025! Congrats to them and to Boyd.

 

I will be curious to see what kind of run they can make in the postseason.

The concern for DCA as I see it is to recover from this tournament and peak for the postseason.  They just played 4 games 4 days and you could see it in the second half of this last one.  Lyon County is a good team and played hard but DCA was making a lot of unforced turnovers.  They played a much cleaner game against Hazard.

Titus Boyd was gassed.  I'm not sure he's completely recovered from his illness earlier in the season when he missed some games.  They have Lincoln on Tuesday and Danville on Friday.  They should be the favorite for both of them if their legs aren't shot.  

DCA should win an average 12th region.  All the pressure will & should be on their shoulders come March.  Part of being the favorite.  Congratulations on the All A.

Glad to see Lyon kept it close. I see they made some 3s unlike Hazard. 9-25. They also almost got doubled up on the boards. Lyon also got no help from the bench either with 0 bench points.

Lyon Co.'s offense is ranked #7 in the state in this week's Massey Ratings. DCA's D #5.

Collins shot the ball really well for Lyon County.  

There were a lot of turnovers on both sides.  Four games in four days will lead to that.

Now that hurts. But this tournament had some really good teams in it.
