Passes away at age 90.  One of a kind. 

Was absolutely hilarious but also a really good baseball announcer. So many funny stories. Sad to see him pass.

The master of self-deprecating humor. “Hey Ueck. Grab a bat and let’s stop this rally.”

On the signing of his first contract. 
 

Team rep:  “It’s 3,000 dollars.”
Ueck:  “You don’t understand. We don’t have that kind of money.”

Sad day. His stories were the best ever.

I was at a reds game during Marty’s final season, when he was calling games from a set up right behind home plate.  That night, Ueck joined him for an inning or 2.  I was sitting maybe 5 or 6 seats away and that was one of the most entertaining things I had ever seen or heard.  Uecker was on that night and Marty played the perfect straight man. 
 

RIP to a true character of the game.
