Sommerset 40 Raceland 35

She has been slowed recently with a injury to her knee. I am not sure if that limited her today or not. She is a good player and will bounce back.

Whitney Seals had an off game from the sounds of it. Her last game at home she was on fire. The injury of course is a factor but she just didnt have a good game. She is still right there with the best. Everyone has a bad game unfourtnately this was the tourney and it is my bet she is already beating herself up.

What kind of game did Cowan have today?

Cowan had an average game... Cowan along with Gomez really stepped up and showed some senior leadership tonight and led the Lady Jumpers to a come from behind victory! Oh yeah and thanks girls for getting us out of school for the rest of the week! LOL :dancingpa

Both teams played a really sloppy game though! The score at the end of the first quarter was 6-2 Raceland! Somerset could not find the rim from behind the arc. When Somerset started to press late in the 3rd is when they really got to rolling. A couple 3 pointers from Gomez and some turnovers got the Jumpers right back into the game. Both teams missed some easy lay-ups and fast break opportunities. However, there were some nice players on the Raceland side that i have to give my props to. #44 had a great game and shot lights out from anywhere inside the 3 point line. Hopefully the Lady Jumpers can play a complete game against Paris on Friday. Good Luck Lady Jumpers.

What happened to Whitney Seals? I heard she was going to play Division 1. If she cant compete against Somerset how will she compete vs D 1 players?

You can't judge a player on one game  . Whitney is a very good basketball player and she just had a bad game. I do believe that at least one (and there were more) D1 coach believes that she can play.:D I don't think it is right to make a statement like you made here.

Thanks os. :thumb:

Tough loss for a great group of girls. You have nothing to be ashamed of and every reason to be proud of what you accomplished to get there.

I wish the lady Rams had used a box and chase on number 12. Deny her the ball and I think Raceland wins.

Pretty harsh question to ask about a high school KID, don't you think? Every now and then a player will have a game where they will not play there best and today happened to be the day Whitney was not scoring. She did however contribute in other areas.

You heard right. Miss Seals is a D-1 signee and is a very gifted basketball player and an even better person. I hope the last sentence answers your last question!!!

She did have an off game, but you could definitelly see that she is a big time player. She is the first girl I have seen that could go stride for stride with Caiti Cowan. Vanderhoof is also a very good player. It was easy to see that Raceland is very well coached. Fundamentally sound.

Somersets SR's showed some tremendous leadership in the fourth quarter. I was not sure that the Jumpers could bounce back, but they did. Congrats to the Jumpers and good luck against Paris.
