Replacing Hodge and Cotton will be tough, but there is plenty of talent in the program to give it a shot.  Jackson Burke will be a great HS QB and then some, he just needs the reps now.  He's differen

Don’t think it was a “unhappy with school/program” situation. Wish them both huge success. Do not think Ja’Hyde Brown leaves. Poised to have a huge year statistically and leadership-wise. Was sur

Spring practice wraps up tomorrow.  Good competition this spring overall.  No spring game.

Good article that breaks down Ja’Hyde’s overall recruitment to this point.

They have some talented skill guys and players all over.  Who is going to be QB?  How does team look compared to last year?

No edge to anyone for the QB1 job to this point.  Pfeiffer and Turner split reps and Burke wasn't at hardly any practices due to baseball.  As far as how does the team look in comparison, I think we're looking at expectations similar to last year.  Very possible CAL goes 5-1, 4-2 or even 3-3 the first 6 games of the year, then runs the table after that.  Hodge, Hobbs, Cotton, Stotts & Robinson are all tough to replace.  That's 5 D1 players right there, but the young talent still left is impressive.  I'm not saying it can't happen, because it most definitely can, but it will take a lot for a team to knock CAL off the next 2-3 years in 3A.

Pretty sure Burke was at almost all of the practices.

Burke was at just about everything, save a couple of segments due to baseball. Reps for everything have been doled out very carefully and judiciously by Cantwell. Whoever he decides will be very well thought out on his part.

Any of the three can lead this team to a 4th straight title. The two transfers are well liked/integrated well into the program. My guess, and that’s all it is, is that it will be Burke. His accuracy/intangibles/ownership of the Cantwell offense are all off the charts and that has been on display in the spring. Pfeiffer’s cannon and Turner’s run/pass are strong attributes to be sure. But Burke’s plusses are elite.

Despite the big name losses I think this team posses a significantly bigger amount of chemistry than the last. Starting 3 receivers are elite, and next 3 can all play ball. Very solid SR TE. Very deep at RB as well. All pieces there on O. D has a few more questions to answer but crazy good up front. I think they have the pieces just figuring out where they fit.

I would think a couple losses along the way are possible but very difficult to stop them from winning #4 in a row.

I know he missed at least a few because I was there for a couple and he wasn’t ?. Saying he wasn’t at hardly any might have been inaccurate, but he did miss at least a few.

Losing Hobbs obviously hurts, but the LB corp returns the two leading tacklers, one of which has multiple D1 offers so I think that group will be fine.  Vezzana, Greene & a few others will round out the group.  The secondary is the main question mark.  Losing 3/4 of the starting group (all D1 players) would hurt any team, but they still return a D1 commit in Stone Perkins, along with Stoner, Ruffin, etc.  All in all, like I said in a prior post, they’ll go anywhere from 3-3 to 5-1 in their first 6 games & then I expect they’ll rattle off 9 straight after that.  Season is almost here.  Can’t wait.

UGA offer for Kellan Hall today….?
