Great Crossing 78 Frederick Douglass 70

Featured Replies

The rims were rattling in G-town tonight.

At 7'1", Moreno puts it on the deck for the and-1.

Not to be outdone, DeMarcus Surratt goes airborne off a baseline/inbound lob.

No one disappointed tonight. Moreno was a monster, per usual.

A good game with Great Crossing winning 78-70. Great Crossing lead 23-12 after the first quarter. Great Crossing led 13-2 early in the quarter. It was the Warhawks leading the Broncos 39-33 at the half.

In the 3rd quarter Douglass took their first lead of the game at 41-39 just a minute and 20 minutes into the quarter. The rest of the quarter was probably the best ball of the night as both teams traded the lead back and forth. The quarter came to an end with Douglass leading 53-51. In the 4th quarter Douglass had the lead at 63-58 with 5 minutes to play and had their last lead at 63-60 with 4:44 left. The Warhawks went on a 10-0 run and lead the Broncos 68-63 in under two minutes of game time. Douglass cut the lead to 4 at 74-70 with about 1:30 to play. The Warhawks scored the last 4 of the game to win 78-70.

Great Crossing improves to 5-0 and the Broncos lose their first game of the season and falls to 2-1. Great Crossing will take on Covington Catholic in the finals tomorrow at 1:00pm. The Broncos will take on fellow 42nd district foe Scott County in the 3rd place game tomorrow at 11:30am.

Good showing for Frederick Douglass considering two of their top players from last year Armelo Boone has transferred to Woodford County and Aveion Chenault chose to focus on football.
