I have seen most of them play and some that in the top 20 dont deserve to be. The excuse most people give is strength of schedule but I think it might sell more papers to keep the home fans happy. JMO

Dave Cantrall is from northern Kentucky. The Herald-Leader has no input in his rankings ... they just publish them.

Polls are definately debateable and I may not do any better but I have always noticed that the HL polls always protect their home schools.

 

I guess the Courier Journal is protecting the Lexington Schools also because there are 4 teams from the city and six in the 11th region in the top 20

Agree with you on SK, montgomery county record is due to a weak schedule, Brossart should not be top 15 they lost to a weak PC that GRC just beat by 19, if anybody they deserve to be hire.

 

 

Simon Kenton's schedule doesn't look so tough. Maybe they are weak since GRC beat them by 8. I didn't know that GRC got paid to play, I thought that was against the rules.

According to these rankings then some of the Eastern Ky teams aren't to far away from competing with the top teams in the state. Shelby Valley lost by 3 to #5 Warren Central. JBS lost by 1 To # 2 Mason County. Hazard beat #14 Madison Central. Paintsville loses by 1 to #11 South Laurel. Maybe the teams from the 14th, 15th, and 16th will have a chance to advance in the Sweet 16.

Elliott is a 16th region team. Wouldnt that make it 7?

You or I one must have misunderstood something somewhere. I understood the question to be : How many regions are not represented in the top 25. Elliott Co and the 16th would not be 7 because they are represented at the number 20 spot:D Whether they are that good or not is a matter of one's own opinion but they are there in this week's poll!!!
