Any word out of Campbellsville? 

The Eagles are moving along in the early portion of the summer schedule… Numbers are good with 14 Seniors and 17 Juniors and a total of 51 players… Seven on Seven this week at home on Thursday… It’s Go Time ??

Coach Estes posted on the Listserv on Monday saying that Campbellsville "could possibly be looking for a week 1 game for this year due to unforseen circumstances."

Their Forcht Bank Bowl game against Caverna is still showing up on Arbiter, but it's sounding like it's not looking too certain at this point.

I really hope this game happens. I’m looking at the progress that Coach Hayes has had in his time there. Looking to see how they stacked up against Campbellsville.

Due to Caverna cancelling the opening game against Campbellsville, the Eagles will now host Bell County in the Forcht Bank Bowl on August 22nd…

They don’t have enough players at the moment.

Did a bunch of kids end up transferring out of Caverna? I know the twins went to Taylor but ended up coming back. They were Junior loaded last season with very few graduating Seniors so one would think that they wouldn’t have a numbers issue this season.

Looking at last year's roster, Caverna had 4 seniors, 10 juniors, 7 sophomores, and 4 freshmen for a total of 25 players on their roster.

Right now they have 21 on their roster according to Arbiter. 10 seniors, 7 juniors, and 4 sophomores...no freshmen.

That probably means Caverna's coach or athletic director hasn't loaded any freshmen into the system. The upperclassmen automatically roll over from one year to the next, but my guess is some of them aren't playing. I hate this is happening for a football program that has had some recent middle school success, won their high school district two years ago, and seemed on the verge of some relative success.

I had high hopes for them. They returned a good nucleus of players. I thought they could compete to win the district this season. The only loss by 4 points last season.
