Male 30 Bullitt East 20

Featured Replies

Chargers played better tonight than they have in a month in the first half.  Didn't play bad in second half but didn't play as well as first half.  A lot of players playing some good football, just too much inconsistency.

Just saw that Male was without their starting QB, starting OL Spike Sowells who is also a force on the defensive line, and 2 other starting offensive lineman along with Chayce Burton. So this score makes a little bit more sense.

I was told Bullitt East had 4 turnovers and one was a pick 6. Hard to beat anyone with those especially a program like Male.

Bullitt East was without probably 5 or 6 players who would be starting if not for injury.  I get it, I really do.  Spike is a dominant player, and I'm just sick for the Burton kid.  But it's Male.  It's not like they are jogging out kids from the chess club who have one leg shorter than the other.  I know a few coaches who would like to have some of Male's second stringers.  Actually, I know a LOT of coaches who would like to have them.  It was hard hitting, physical game and both teams were playing hard.  Male was the better team and made more plays.  They deserved to win.  But let's not act like BE was playing Male's freshman team.

BE was without some starters as well, of which included their leading tackler from last year and this year & their leading receiver from this year.  Both are actually out for the year.  One was lost in the Fern Creek game and the other before the Fern Creek game.  No excuses either way.  It has to be next man up; same for Male.  Who were the other OL that Male was missing?  I knew Spike was out, but wasn't aware of any other OL.
