John Hardin looks to push their record to 7-2 against an opponent in 2-6 Nelson County on Friday. This should be another running clock for John Hardin against another inferior opponent on John Hardin's schedule. John Hardin was exposed against Bardstown 2 weeks ago, especially along the defensive line where Amonti Marshall ran roughshod thru and around their defense for 250 yards, often without being touched. John Hardin has got to improve their strength of schedule in the coming years. Their opponents thru 8 weeks have a combined record of 25-32.

My Prediction: John Hardin 42 Nelson County 6

I don’t see 42-6. John Hardin will win, and Nelson does not have the D-Line to contend with the JH power run game. But Nelson has some players. Brayden Smith is a good athlete (if he plays - he missed the second half with a shoulder injury Friday night). SS/TE Ethan Kessinger is a good player. LB Lincoln Boblitt is a good player. QB Kam Morley knows how to throw it, even on the run. DB/K Cooper Thompson is a sure tackler and is good for 3 points from 35 and in. There are some guys to catch the ball. JH’s defense is not great. I see this more as a 35-21 kind of game.

This should lock up the 2 seed I believe. If the Raiders handle business against Logan County, it looks to set up Warren East at John Hardin first round, I think that’ll be a very fun matchup with two polar opposite offenses that can produce and some questionable defense.

Will the #4 seed be Logan County or Hopkinsville?

Should be Hopkinsville they have the head to head against Logan.

It’ll most likely be Hopkinsville based on the expected results for this week. However, if Logan County were to win this Friday against Warren East then it brings other scenarios into play. If Hopkinsville were to beat Allen County-Scottsville, that would leave Warren East and Logan County in a two way tie which Logan County would win thanks to the head to head tiebreaker, making them the 4. If Hopkinsville were to lose to Allen County-Scottsville with Logan County winning, it would become a three way tie for third in the district between Logan County, Warren East, and Hopkinsville, pushing it to RPI. That makes it tougher to project. Right now Hopkinsville is just ahead of Logan County in RPI. Logan County would take a significant jump thanks to the win over East (in this scenario), which should move them ahead of Hopkinsville, who would have lost. I’m not sure if Logan County would be able to catch East. Which means in this scenario again, I think it would be Logan County as the 4.

If Logan County were to lose Friday and Hopkinsville win, it’ll be a three way tie for second. But Hopkinsville is probably too far back to catch the others in RPI, which would keep them at the 4. If both

TLDR - If Logan County wins this Friday against East, I expect they’d be the 4. In the more likely event they lose, I expect it’ll be Hopkinsville, regardless of the result for Hopkinsville on Friday.

@DragonFire Was unaware that the RPI was the tiebreak but it makes sense, why have it if you’re not using it. I will say I liked it better when they tallied up the wins that your non district opponents accumulated through the course of the season, I guess it all ties into the same concept but it always gave a clear picture.
