The Broncos have a big district/city game next Saturday, Oct. 12th at 12:00pm at home vs. Bryan Station.

I was impressed with Madison Central, especially their running game.

Why noon, any idea?

The superintendent started making them do this several years ago after some trouble a few years ago at a Friday night game and since Station has become a really good team the crowds have gotten huge and it is just for safety precautions.

On some level I disagree with that.  Hire a little extra security and arrest any violators.

3 or so years ago, during a stadium capacity Station -Douglass game, there were kids lighting fireworks in the concourse area, and caused a huge panic. People thought it was gunfire, but it wasn't.

This is the reason FCPS games (between city schools) have 6:30pm kickoffs, and Station and Douglass games specifically kick on Saturday at noon. The thought with a Saturday kick, is to reduce the crowd size, and potential mischief and/or altercations. Instead of just beefing up security, lol.

Common sense isn't so common in FCPS.

Right, because beefing up security would be attacking the root of the problem, moving the games is some form of appeasement.

I know right, I have known that for a solid 20 years or more.

I have said it many times before another example of all you need to know about the state's RPI. Douglass plays an average game at best, but I think this is the best Madison Central team in years. The Broncos with tonight's win is now up to #4 in 6A ahead of both St.X and Male who beat Douglass by 3 on the road just last week.

MC backers think he got in for the TD. Looks close to me.

It looks close to me too.  We do not have the right angle to determine from the video provided.

Congratulations to Frederick Douglass on the win. Hate that (at least on the surface) it looked like it ended in a controversial call. Always liked rooting for Frederick Douglass with Coach McPeek and it was awesome that he got inducted into the Marshall University Hall of Fame this year. Looks like Madison Central narrowed the gap quite a bit compared to last year. Was Madison Central expected to be as competitive as they have been? I could be wrong as I have limited knowledge on both teams in terms of personnel, injuries, etc. but I don't think many expected Madison Central to beat Johnson Central in week one after coming off a 4-8 season and they started out winning that one and have picked up some good wins since.
