Being undefeated through a few weeks is a great start to the season. But after seven weeks?.... You're worth keeping tabs on.

I picked a doozy week to start this thread, what with such a loaded schedule of big games. ?

Only four of our "Perfect 10" are in action.

My crystal ball ? is crystal clear. All four should roll this week.

Looking ahead, what caught my eye most was the potential for Week 11 in Munfordville:

Campbellsville (9-0) at Hart County (9-0)

That scenario played out last year, with the Raiders escaping by a touchdown. At worst, we'd have two top four teams in their respective classes with 10-0 up for grabs and Hart looking for a second straight undefeated regular season.

Both have work to do, but I like their chances of getting there.

Between now and then....

• Campbellsville has Lou. Holy Cross at home and KCD on the road.

• Hart County has Glasgow and Franklin-Simpson, both at home.

Looking at the four undefeateds playing this week, I guess Franklin County would have the most difficulty, and that's a relative term. Calpreps predicts the Flyers to win 48-3!

The four teams in action last week - Boyle County, Franklin County, Cooper, and Sayre - won their games by an average score of 50-6.

The best chance for an L this week lies in Morganfield, where Hancock County visits a team that beat them by four touchdowns last year. Hart County shouldn't be overlooked as a potential upset target, either.

Fade the Hornets.... Hancock County was brought back to reality by a 42 point shellacking at Union County.

The most vulnerable teams this week are Campbellsville (ranked opponent on the road), Hart County (hosting an opponent they clipped by three points last year), and maybe Sayre (visiting a team they edged by four points last year), but I like where the Spartans are at right now.

• Fade Campbellsville.... the Eagles fell to a worthy KCD squad, unable to hold up their end of a potential battle of unbeatens with Hart County.
• C'ville now gets to play the role of spoiler, as the Raiders seek a second straight undefeated regular season.
• Paducah Tilghman, Franklin County, Owensboro Catholic, and Sayre are also in position to secure a repeat of last year's 10-0 marks.
• Prestonsburg needs a win over its strongest opponent yet to lock down its first 10-0 record since 2009, and the third in program history.
• Boyle County is seeking an incredible fifth unbeaten regular season in the last seven years, but the Rebels face a stiff challenge in one of Week 11's marquee games.

Fade Prestonsburg.... the Blackcats were de-clawed by Breathitt County, 35-6. The schedule was soft, leaving them exposed in Jackson.

Hart County escaped a brush with defeat against Campbellsville. The will to win is strong in Munfordville.

Everyone else won by at least three touchdowns. That includes Boyle County, who clinched its fifth undefeated regular season in seven years. The Rebels are an incredible 73-4 in regular season games since 2017.

With the playoffs opening next week, nothing short of a historic upset will keep the teams below from moving to 11-0.

As expected, last week's seven unbeatens carried over to this week. Franklin County received a bye to the second round, but the six teams in action won their games by a combined score of 330-55.

Look for things to tighten up this week, with the possibility of competitive games for Sayre, O-Cath, Hart County, and Cooper.

It's all good through the second round. The seven unbeatens all advanced, with Hart County's 15 point win the smallest margin of victory.

For at least a couple of teams, it's about to get real, as menacing threats emerge to challenge their inclusion among the ranks of the undefeated.

Fade Hart County and...... Boyle County????

The Rebel dynasty was shockingly cut down by a Catholic rebellion from Park Hills, ending Boyle's bid for five straight titles and a state best 32 game winning streak in one fell swoop.

The fact that Hart County lost wasn't stunning in and of itself, because Jarren Johnson and Union County are formidable, but the three touchdown margin raised some eyebrows.

For four of our five remaining unbeatens, it's anybody's ballgame. Owensboro Catholic is the only prohibitive favorite in the semifinal round.

All five unbeatens from last week advanced to the state finals.

Sayre impressed with a three score win over Campbellsville, O-Cath earned a workmanlike win over Somerset, PT and Franklin County assured that we'll have at least one undefeated champion, and Cooper throttled Highlands with as one sided a second half as you'll ever see between two highly regarded teams.

The stage is set.

The race to perfection is nearing the finish line.

Who runs through the tape, and who tumbles head over heels in defeat?
