The Jaguars of Cooper (7-0) host the Scott Eagles (2-4) in a district matchup. Cooper continues their inevitable march to an undefeated record in the district after dispatching Highlands a couple of weeks ago. It will not surprise me if Cooper doesn't hit running clock before halftime. Scott, to their credit, may be climbing their way back into relevance one step at a time, but that destination is still off in the distance.

Jaguars early and often here.

Too many weapons for the Eagles to defend.

Scott won't even be a speed bump in the road for Cooper in this one.

I have a feeling that the last 3 or 4 seasons may have unfortunately gutted Scott and sent them in a spiral back to being the doormat of virtually all the football programs in Kenton County. Their football team dates back to the late 1970's and they've only had maybe 4 or 5 seasons out of near on 50 years of football where they were even in okay shape. If Scott was an actual person, he could teach a world-renowned master class on maintaining malignant athletic programs, and for a school Scott's size and with the demographic they serve, that is absolutely mind boggling. Holmes, Newport, and Dayton all have legitimate excuses. The money has moved out of their school districts and their schools are filled with students from low-income households, single-parent households, no-car households, and below the poverty line households. What is Scott's excuse?

Also on the show this week, Lance McAlister was Cooper's special guest.

I think the Jags have this game out of reach going into the 2nd quarter.

Cooper wins the toss and will receive.

Jaiden Combs returns the kickoff 80 plus yards to the house.  PAT good

Cooper lead 7-0, 11:45 1Q

Scott no yards on the return.  Eagles start on own 19

Scott quick the line.  Coach signaling to the QB to watch the back judge for the play clock.

Eagles punt on 4th and 8.

Punt downed at Scott 39.

9:04 1Q

Malachi Ewell on the end around.  4 yard rushing touchdown.  PAT good.

Cooper leads 14-0, 8:42 1Q

Coleman with an 8 yard return.  Eagles start on own 25

Scott not signaling play in until 20 seconds left in play clock.  Trying to run as much clock as they can.
