Trinity 7 St. Xavier (OH) 3

Two huge defensive efforts. Anyone know why Trinity's feature back JB Berry did not play?

Saw Herbie but not Ben.

Surprised that Coach Specht made some mistakes using his timeouts. Do not expect that from him.

A battle between two good defenses in this one for sure. Neither offense could find much breathing room at all.

Trinity had 163 yards of offense while Cincy X had 112. T was riddled with the turnover bug. Johnson threw three picks.

Rocks defense with a couple big stands to stall X drives. Including in the fourth quarter when X got within striking distance and had to settle for a field goal.

To the question from @fatsnbul, JB Berry left the game vs St. X last week with an apparent lower-body injury late. Christopher Wilson led the rushing attack tonight. Wilson had a couple of big ones late to help the Rocks run that clock down.

Unfortunately, JB is out due to an ankle injury he sustained late in the game on Poplar Level Road last Saturday. Chris Wilson and Zach Floyd stepped up and did a great job keeping us on track. I'm looking forward to seeing what contributions Benji Rice brings to the backfield. While I can't speak to his athletic abilities just yet, he seems to be a tremendous young man. It's always a pleasure to add a team-first, high-character individual.

How long is JB Berry out?  Was it season ending?

I looked back because I was curious but that is now 6 in a row for the Rocks against the Bombers.

Incredible numbers, especially considering the program at X under Coach Specht. The 2021 win is especially noteworthy. That was an X team coming off of the largest win margin in history in the Ohio Division I state championship game in 2020 (Put 44 points up in the first half against Pickerington Central and that's all it took) and they started the 2021 season ranked in the top 25 nationally.

Although I have driven by the stadium, I have never attended a Trinity football game and hope to do that at some point. Congratulations to Trinity on the win against a tough out of state opponent!
