From watching how horrible the Buckhorn team was just 5 years ago to where that coaching staff has gotten them can only go to show that if you have faith in your players then good deeds will surely come your way at some point.

 

Great job in getting this program turned into the right direction. To battle a team that IMO an shot at making it deep into the Sweet 16 with the right draw...well that just goes to show you how far they've come in a few short years.

 

Coach Noble seems to get all the talent out of the players he has to work with I agree.

Collins had 7 blocks for JBS

Cox had 19 points & 9 assists (or maybe 9 boards but I doubt it)

Clark Stepp had 24 points & 9 boards (I believe it was rebounds & not assists)

This was a great ballgame with both teams deserving to win the game. Buckhorn was very impressive and I think if they play and shoot like they did last night they could easily win their district or maybe more. Blank shot the lights out and Gay played real well at times. Collins and Short game Buckhorn fits inside and blocked many shots. JBS in no way overlooked Buckhorn and knew they would have a hard game.

Stepp had 24,Cox 21,Short 14 points and 10 rebounds and Collins had 9 points and 10 rebounds. Collins and Short blocked many shots especially in the first half and Buckhorn took most of their shots from the outside and hit a high percentage.

I was amazed that the Hazard pep section cursed the JBS team and even threatened one of the cheerleaders even though they were not playing. They screamed at JBS the whole night and that is okay but you should not allow kids to curse and threaten kids. Some Breathitt county fans got in on the act and started yelling for JBS in the other end zone. They however didnt curse but just yelled.

I think the Hazard pep section has JBS fired up for tonight and like the old saying goes "Its not good to wake a sleeping giant"..

Buckhorn led most of this game and the 4th foul on Andy Blank hurt them. This was a great game. Justin Rice done a great job on Clark Stepp. He had to battle for everything he got in this one. Coach Noble has these boys playing as well as anyone and I think they can make a run at winning the region if they continue to play this way. Great game by both teams.

How is Rice & Gay doing so far this season ?

 

Rice always leaves it on the floor. He is what makes this team go. Gay is starting to play his size. He is being more aggressive.He had two dunks against Knott the other night. Neither counted. One came after the horn of the first quarter and the other came off of a rebound, but a fould was called before it. Both were nasty. Andy Blank is one of the best shooters around and does it on the defensive side as well. I think Buckhorn is a contender and will be for some time to come. Rice is the only senior on the team and they have a very talented grade school team.

Blank came out in the first 2 minutes and hit 2 or 3 3's straight for Buckhorn and seemed top put JBS on their heels a little. It was an outstanding game.

This was the best game I have watched this season and in a long time. Buckhorn has to be considered a top 5 team in the region at this time.

It would be scary to see what Coach Noble could do with a team that was loaded with talent and a deep bench. This years team is talented, but not much depth.

Good showing for Buckhorn, good to see Coach Nobel has his boys believeing they can win. Good and big win for JBS. Eventhogh i already know how they did the tonight in the finals. Just wanted to say good job buckhorn.

This must be a common trend for the Hazard pep section. I have seen them play a few times this year and the cursing of players and cheerleaders, seem to be present at all games. This is a classless act, when fans act the way that some of the Hazard fans do, it takes away from the enjoyment of the team and the players.

On the thing about our fans embarresing the 14th region, I believe between the girls and the boys programs we have been to Richmond and Lexington plenty of times (15 to 20 times) in the last 15 years we know how to act. Happy M. knows when the kids are going to far.

I was thinking the same thing. The Hazard fans was on the side of Buckhorn's cheerleaders. When the lady went to the students on the other side, the copS said they hadn't heard a thing out of them. There were only three or four sitting over there.

Buckhorn is a very good team, Shelby Valley just beat them by 12, they could give any team in the 14th trouble
