MorrowManiac Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Pretty wild game with JC having multiple interceptions I believe it was two with the JC offense struggling the defense looked iffy run defense was really good that is about it that really stood out. I believe JC will continue to get better throughout the season but not good enough to beat a boyle county or corbin. Madison Central played a sloppy game as well with multiple interceptions and lots of yards given up but ultimately offense looked better passing wise defense did very good stopping the run game. 1
DevilMayCare Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 These are games we're not accustomed to seeing JC lose. Once they hit their stride under Matney and began scheduling outside their region, they were routinely beating Lexington schools and some of the perennial "big school" contenders from West Virginia. Those teams didn't prepare for the wishbone, coupled with JC's talent level being up and perfectly suited for that offense. I think it's too soon to lay this on Peck, because the talent was bound to cycle down eventually. They're clearly not what they were 5-8 years ago, but JC football is still formidable and will likely be back sooner rather than later.

They're staring at a possible 0-3 start, with Belfry and Pikeville coming up back-to-back. Corbin and Ashland are waiting in the wings later on. A .500 regular season is on the table. 2
BEChargers Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Congrats to Coach Blair and Madison Central.
