Scott has a very solid team coming back. Fairly deep staff with a good lineup. Plus while the 10th has some good teams year in and year out, if you get good pitching, is very winnable. This job should attract some decent candidate. 

Per Scott HS Athletics X feed, Bryan Norton has been named the new head coach.

I am told this job is back open.

This is a little surprising. I know for a fact he was just speaking to possible assistant coaches for Scott just yesterday morning.

He does have a long history with SK......could he be going there to replace Roberts?

So I have had two people confirm this to me privately now.  Coach Norton was dismissed.

Moving forward, who should be on the short list and frankly who would even want to coach at Scott anymore.  I know that is harsh..

I think people will be interested because Scott has a good core coming back that could compete for a region title.  

But I'm still having a hard time getting my head wrapped around Norton getting let go out of nowhere 2 weeks after being hired very quickly after the job became open. The guy has been coaching in NKY for a long time, most recently with Beechwood the last 7 or so years and is well respected. Strange.

I know football has had its issues with 4 coaches in 3 years but the other athletic programs at Scott are in good shape and have no coaching issues. XC/Track is a region and state contender especially on the girls side every year under Triplet who has been at Scott for over a decade. Volleyball is a region power under Sullivan who has been at Scott for 2 decades. Boys and Girls basketball has had success under Fromeyer and Pouncy. Girls archery won a region last year. Wrestling has guys who compete at region and state. Soccer has had past success and are consistent under Rogers and Ast. Swimming is a region contender and now has the new aquatics center. Baseball has had consistent and successful coaches and is a regional contender. No idea of the current coaching situation but baseball will be fine. Not to mention the facilities are some of the best if not the best in NKY.

This is crazy to me! Not sure who would want to touch Scott w a 10 ft pole.

Best of luck to Norton who has been around a long time. Maybe he ends up at SK?

What's your reasoning behind this?  Outside of the craziness with the football coach last year, the coaches at Scott have been around as @I gotta go to work stated above.
