Marlins at Reds (7/12 - 7/14)

Featured Replies

Interesting stat.

Reds are #21 in attendance at home.

Reds are #4 in MLB in attendance at road games.

The Elly effect?

Some of that is probably schedule - where they have played road games. But I think some of it is people want to see Elly.

How often do you change your lineup? Do you rearrange your lineup today because of what happened yesterday and/or the day before? If your lead off hitter goes 0-8 over the previous two games, do you drop him to #7 in the lineup?

I'll add this. As Hinds has been destroying the ball and breaking records, the player whose Reds records Hinds has been breaking for a fast start is Chris Dickerson. Perspective. Six games do not make a career and they don't change a lineup. Dickerson hit 4 or 5 HR's in his first few games. He then lasted 7 years in MLB and hit a total of 66 HR's.

Batting behind Marte??  .134???  Yes, absolutely, I would move him up in front of him, batting him in front of Marte is no where your comparison to dropping your lead off hitter

Maybe Marte needs protection to try and get him better pitches?

You've never heard of that? Especially with young players - put a better hitter behind them to help them get more strikes to hit?

Of course I have but that doesn’t apply to Marte, he’s getting PLENTY of good pitches to hit, he’s just not hitting them is his problem

If we don’t make the playoffs we can probably look back at this 10 game home stand where we went 5-5 against the Tigers, Rockies and Marlins, sheesh!!
