We never actually bet, but every year we pick a horse to root for in my family. I’ve never won, and picked Sierra Leone for this one. I don’t think I could get closer without winning! That was an incredible race.

I liked Sierra Leone also. For the Derby I always look for horses that come from off the pace and are strong finishers. My other horse I liked was Catching Freedom.

Placed a total of 7 bets over the weekend and hit on 3 of them! Love it.

First, I had money on Thorpedo Anna to win the Oaks as I have a connection with the owner and his family.

Second, I had Seize the Gray in the Pat Day Mile. That was my wife's bet since she has gray hair.

Third, I picked the Derby winner. Had a little money on some long shots, too, but Mystik Dan was my guy into the race.
