I sure hope I don't jinx us, but since no one started one and the game has started I went ahead.

The Reds went scoreless in the top of the first they did get a hit by Benson but that was all.

A bad start for Montas in the bottom of the first as he gave 3 runs on a 3-run homer also he walked 4 batters in the inning.

Mariners up 3-0, top of 2nd.

5-1 with no one out in the 3rd.   Montas is run after a horrible evening.

Play of the game tonight was Elly making the third out at third base and knocking out a run from scoring by getting thrown out before Fraley crossed the plate. Instead of 3-2 and Elly at second as the tieing run, Mariners stay up 3-1 and are out of the inning.

Final score 3-1 Mariners.

I was impressed with the Mariners. My kind of team. Pitchers throw strikes and go after hitters. Hitters don't swing at bad pitches. Good defense. They may be a top hitter away from winning in October, but they play great fundamental baseball.
