Bengals vets angry, embarrassed by latest arrest

Featured Replies

So your view is that 50% of the players on the Bengals 45 man roster drink and drive, smoke pot, brandish weapons outside of nightclubs, buy alcohol and possibly have sexual relations with minors as the 9 have done?

I would expect if the percentage was that high more teams would be closer to the Bengals 9 arrests in the past year than closer to zero.

Also, if this is commonplace why is only the past 13 months been the issue? In the previous 2-3 years of Marvin's reign were they just better at not getting caught?

I am not that cynical, YET, to believe that 50% of the NFL players are like this.

The part I bolded isn't that the stuff Chris Henry has done and on one else on the team has done? And as I said in my previous post I said with the exception of Chris Henry who kept finding ways to get into trouble...I really think that you probably should be believe that ATLEAST 50% of the NFL players smoke pot as GT said. And I also bet just as many if not more have drove drunk since they been in the NFL, and probably do it on more than one occasion. So yes for the most part I do believe that many people do that in the NFL and just alot of them haven't got caught...As I have said I dont believe what they do is right, and if they are doing that they should get caught. But my point is, we could bring in 9 nine players and I bet atleast half of them would still do the same things, it just would depend on rather they get caught or not...

Maybe we just got better cops in the Greater Cincinnati/NKY area than we thought...:D

Sounds like you're trying to "suck up" to the Ru! :D

So you guys, GT and futurecoach, are saying all of the NFL has potheads, we just have stupid potheads.

Let's see who was responsible for bringing all 9 to Cincinnati???? Oh that's right Marvin was. How about stick to the claim he made last spring that character would count in bringing players to the Bengals.

He's got input yes, but responsible?????? Not so much.

I will defer to GT who has a better handle on the inner workings but my view is that who is drafted and brought in here is about 95% of Marvin's wishes.

So, it should be no big deal????

Lance McAlister was on his show on Monday and said his employee book for Clear Channel says he receives a DUI, HIS FIRST, and he is fired. Bottom line, he is gone on his first.

The bottom line would be that Clear Channel has that in there rules so they can, but they probably wouldn't fire Lance for his first offense.

The Brown family has final input. I don't think GT or anyone knows how much pull they actually have. They are the bosses though so if they want something they are going to get it.

Nicholson and Rucker's offenses were before they were Bengals and Askew is no longer on the team.

And with that on their resume', Marvin decided to bring them to the Bengals. It seems the Bengals do ACTUALLY listen to their coach and follow his role model.

He has made poor judgement on who he has brought in and they follow that poor judgement with their actions.

Where you getting this information?

Where you getting this information?

There has been article after article in the Enquirer over the past few years that have indicated that Marvin is making the player calls and Katie Blackburn (is that her name?) negotiates the contracts. Over and over the news media has indicated that Marvin makes the calls.

If their looking for DD's, I'll be available after the legislative session.:D

I believe the draft process is done by committee. It's not just Marvin.

And who do you think has the final say. From everything I have read Mike Brown turned over those decisions to Marvin. I wonder if this year with the events that have prespired that Mike doesn't get a little bit more involved. And that is not good news for the Bengals.
