He has Owsley County not rated in the top 5 of the 14th region. They’ve played a difficult schedule, opening the season with a loss to Boyd County, losing in the WYMT by 2 points to Knox Central and 4 points to Martin County, and losing in overtime at Perry Central after leading for 95% of the game. They have also defeated Corbin by 14 points. And just won the 14th region All A Championship with a 16 point win over Leslie County in the semifinals and a 42 points victory over Hazard in the championship game. 
Of course I am extremely biased when it comes to the Lady Owls, lol, but they are much better than Professor Massey is aware of. For one thing they have four girls averaging in double figures and a well balanced team.

Kentucky's Top 25 ~

1️⃣ ? ⚔️ ?❓Two tournaments this week, the LIT and the All 'A' Classic, should have the biggest impact on the new Ratings due tomorrow. Does Sacred Heart, LIT champs, become the new #1 to reflect the media polls, or does GRC hold on to the top spot despite losing to #19 Butler. Will Covington Holy Cross make the leap to Top 5 status after defeating #4 Pikeville in the All 'A' Classic title game?

Massey is customarily slow to change at this point in the season, relying as I understand it, mostly on the season's body of work and Strength of Schedule. As much as I respect the Professor's format, there are some holes in states where results data isn't tracked. I think regardless of losses to out of state teams, most nationally ranked, this has "hurt" Sacred Heart.

Simon Kenton's (#27) home court win over #5 Anderson County was an eye opener. That alone may put the Lady Pioneers back into the Top 25, which they've been in and out of all season. Their two losses last week to #1 Sacred Heart and #3 Cooper adds to their SoS cred, but may hold them back. 

#12 Notre Dame's loss at Campbell County was a head scratcher, but the PaNDAs have now lost three of their last five. They'll get a chance to regroup this week with a temperature check Monday at Grant County.

??? Holy Cross (+2), the 9th's second ranked team surges into the top five, not only on the strength of their record, but Anderson County's loss to Simon Kenton and a weaker schedule by McCracken County. Well played Indians!

Ashland (+2) continues to impress. The Kittens went 4-0 last week, including a win over West Virginia's #3 Spring Valley. 

The Russell Red Devils also ran the table, winning three, to make the biggest jump (+4) in the Top 25.

⚔️ Sacred Heart has squelched any lingering doubts they are the best team in the Bluegrass with Friday's 61-49 win over #2 George Rogers Clark. Icing on the cake perhaps was provided by this afternoon's win at Mercy to run their win streak vs. Kentucky competition to 61. The Jaguars were the last team to beat SHA, almost two years ago to the day. 

?️ The road was unkind to a handful of teams - #4 Pikeville, #6 McCracken Co, #9 Ryle, #14 Butler, and #19 Pulaski Co all took an L. The Lady Mustangs and Lady Raiders both lost to teams ranked outside the Top 50. ? 

? ? ? The losses noted may provide openings for #3 Cooper, #5 Covington Holy Cross, and #7 Ashland to move up a notch or two. 

? All in all, an exciting week of girls hoops!
