Nice win for the Lady Pioneers against their County rival. 

Both squads play Friday: Simon Kenton (6-1, KY #25) hosts District rival Walton-Verona; the Colonels (4-2, KY #16) visit Newport Central Catholic.

Dixies is a physical team led by seniors and juniors. It was nice to see the young Pioneers ability to bounce back after a rough first half. Good to pull out a win in that type of game.   

Expected this to be close, especially given where they are situated in our NKY Top 10, and glad my flipping of these two this week didn't end up blowing up in my face!  ?

SK finding a groove. They are going to be tough to beat.

I still think they'll struggle with all 4 of the teams above them in NKY, as evidenced by Ryle getting them by 27 a couple of weeks ago.

We'll know more about SK for sure after the Queen of the Commonwealth next week at Bullitt East.  They open with Bowling Green next Tuesday night, and could have a litany of solid opponents over the following 3 days.  

Buddenberg being held to 6 points, and without a made three, are the most shocking parts of the box score for me.  She is such a fiery leader for the Colonels, kudos to the Lady Neers for being able to keep her contained.
