From everything that I have read, he is getting a lot of interest from schools in football, but says that basketball is his game and is not really interested in playing football.

Steffphon stats to date are 35 ppg, 14 boards. I wonder how these stats stack up against others being recruited by UK. He also had a monster summer with the Derek Smith All-Stars against some of the nation's best talent. I think Steffphon has produced, he's gone well beyond proving himself worthy. I want to know what it actually takes for a Kentucky high school basketball player to actually be recruited by Kentucky. Honestly, I find it completely offensive that UK is not in contact with our guy. Shame on them.

Why would UK give the kid from Alaska a scholarship and not offer Pettigrew?

 

 

The kid from Alaska is a PLAYER! You might not see it for a year or two, but he will be a lot better than most realize. Im not saying they shouldn't offer Pettigrew, because as I said above, I believe they should. But UK took him because we needed more depth at PF this season, badly. While I think Harris is better suited for the SF possition, he can play PF when needed. Tubby was just covering all of the bases in case he needed an extra PF THIS season.

I hope Pettigrew goes to Morehead State!

Agreed. The more I hear about him the more he sounds like a Chuck Hayes clone. They both could have played just about anywhere as a football player, but would rather play basketball because it's what they love. They're both close to the same size, Chuck was a little heavier, but Pettigrew is more athletic. IMO, if he does end up at UK, he'll be a fan favorite from day one. :thumb:

There is an NCAA rule that puts limitations on phone calls but not on text messages.

What we have to remember is,as far as this kids size He might could grow another inch or so in the next year,and they will add some weight to him with the strenth coach.
