Frederick Douglass 34 Bryan Station 14

Featured Replies

Final. The Broncos never trailed in the game it was tied at 7 in the 2nd quarter, but the Broncos dominated the 2nd half on both sides of the ball. Douglass improves to 4-3 on the season and Station falls to 5-3 on the season. This is also Frederick Douglass's 31st straight win over Lexington schools.

I think this game was a little closer than the score indicates but Douglass was clearly the superior team today.

This was actually a bigger margin of victory than it was here at Station 2 years ago where Douglass won that one 27-14.

Stats:

Rush Yards:

Douglass 175

Station 177

Pass Yards:

Douglass 117

Station 120

Turnovers:

Douglass 0

Station 2 plus 3 turnovers on 4th down.

Darion Talbert for Douglass had 210 all purpose yards. He was a difference maker today. Trenton Cutwright was big for the Defenders today. I will say these two will meet at Douglass in a few weeks in the playoffs.

Best of luck to Cooper Ranvier and the Douglass boys soccer team who currently is leading the 11th region soccer championship 1-0 late in the first half.

I know it’s more into the season, but I really thought that Bryan Station was going to be more impressive than they have shown. Congratulations to FD on the win.

Ranvier just headed in the tying goal less than 5 minutes left in the 11th Region Soccer Championship game vs Lafayette.

Unreal they have already updated the RPI's for Douglass and Bryan Station an hour after their game (even though they have not updated the records) and Station is still ahead of Douglass in the RPI. Hey on the positive side they did finally pass Tates Creek and 4-4 Ryle and 3-5 Henderson. lol

Playing out of state teams screws your RPI. You can play mater dei and you only get credit for playing a .500 team

I think there’s no doubt they both make it to round 3 of the playoffs, but good old RPI will determine if they meet & where or if one of them get Trinity instead.
