Notre Dame 21 Duke 14

Featured Replies

Final.

Just seemed like the stage was just a little too big for Duke. Notre Dame just escapes Durham, the long fourth down run by QB for Notre Dame was HUGE.

Wild game to watch at the end.  I said Notre Dame could play themselves back into the playoffs, it just won't be easy.  They've crossed the first hurdle.  They're at Louisville next week, who's 5-0, then at home against USC, clearly the toughest game left on the schedule.  But at Clemson will also be a tough game.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

It felt to me like Notre Dame could have put Duke away more before halftime. I expected the game to be interesting after the half and it clearly was.

Didn't make sense to me why Duke didn't blitz on 4th down like they had with good effect on 2nd and 3rd.  Having the QB just run for like 18 yards on 4th down is a bad way to lose.  And Duke's QB suffering a bad injury rubs salt in the wound.

As an Irish fan, though, I'm glad they got a messy win.  Need to get the WR core healthy and get refocused for Louisville.

I didn't catch much of the first half because LSU vs Ole Miss was too good to turn off.   I think Reece Davis said it felt like Notre Dame should've been up 24-0 instead of 10-0 at one point in the first half.

That had to be really hard for Duke fans watching from home, especially after Herbstreit kept giving props to Dukes defense for continuing to play aggressive defense and mixing it up, rather than sitting back.  He was even saying it going into that 4th down play.

Kind of ironic that playing more prevent defense cost the Irish a win last week but they benefit by their opponent doing it on a long play tonight.

They should have been up more than ten for sure. They should have scored at least another touchdown in my opinion.

I think not having 11 on the field hurt them more.....
