The Zips of Akron (1-1) travel down to Lexington to take on the Wildcats of Kentucky (2-0). The Zips coming off a 3 point win at home against Morgan State. 

The Cats are coming off a hard fought 28-17 win at home against Eastern Kentucky University. This is last easy game for the Cats before starting the SEC schedule. The Cats still have a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball.

The Cats opening drive to start the game was one of their best so far this year. A 7 play 75 yard drive in which they had 4 pass and 3 run plays and Leary was 4/4 for 63 yards. Cats lead 7-0.

Cats were going to have a first and goal and Dingle who was trying for extra yardage while being gang tackled fumbled the ball recovered in the endzone for Arkon. Cats struggling on offense again after that first drive.

Cats pick up a late touchdown pass from Leary to Robinson for 22 yards on a 3rd and goal. Cats lead 14-0 with :08 seconds left in the first half.

A holding call the Kentucky center Burton that cancels a touchdown then Leary throws an interception on the next play.

Akron gets on the board with a 36 yard FG to make it 14-3 Cats late in the 3rd quarter.

What a play by Leary he was in the arms of an Arkon tackler for a sack and as he is being tackled, he finds Ray Davis who runs it 58 yards for the touchdown. It was a heck of a play! The Cats now lead 21-3 with 1:38 left in the 3rd quarter.

Ray Davis on an impressive 55-yard run breaking several tackles in open field. To make it now 28-3 Cats lead with 13:47 left in the game.

Cats finishing it off with a touchdown on a 4-yard run by Karngbaye to make it 35-3 with 3:04 to play.
