Final.

Ashland has paid a heavy price for the win tonight. Early 3rd qt Strader suffered a hit to collarbone area and came off the field asked his mom to take him to the hospital. He’s the kind of kid that plays thru pain so figured it’s bad. Early report from his mom to my former MIL is at very least he’s got bad bruise but his mom(doctor by the way) thinks it’s broken but not sure if it’s throwing arm side or not

Ashland 45-24 final

Ashland is disciplined, talented, well-coached. No what I would call individual superstars, just really solid at every position. Offensive line is criminally underrated, really solid tonight.

Really proud of Bardstown’s battle tonight. Moved the ball, stalled in red zone several times, blocked FG, discovered a passing game, still can’t defend it.

Ashland was woefully underrated in the pre-season.  With the loss of Stradder, they will be a different team, but they still have the weapons to compensate for that loss.  They will still be good, but different.

Strader’s left collarbone is confirmed broken. I feel really bad for the kid.

I will say this: any team in the state would be overjoyed to have Brandon Houston as their QB. Strader went out midway through the 3rd, and it was 27-10. Houston led scoring drives on 3 of the 5 series he was in from that point, and their run game, which Bardstown had stuffed to that point, opened up dramatically, but he also made several 3rd and long throws. I know they lose him on the edge, but my guess is they will just fine until Strader returns around playoff time.

My hands are tied with regards to updating LaByant’s injury as Jane and Jason don’t want anything posted on FB or other social media. I will say not sure if it’s his throwing shoulder or not but collarbone isn’t broken as first thought but rehab is expected to be 4-8 weeks and that’s all I can say for now.

I was told this morning the collarbone is not broken, but that he has a  Grade 3 AC Joint separation, and is out 4-8 weeks.

Hate to hear about the injury.  Hopefully makes it back for a playoff run.

Houston would’ve been starting QB at almost any other school around EKY. With LaBryant in his corner to help him out Ashland should be ok maybe not as explosive in passing game but with the 2 freshman stepping up helping Jennings running the ball. They can explode in the running game on any given play.
