Paducah Tilghman 42 Graves County 18

Featured Replies

Tilghman opened up the offense early and led 21-0 after the 1st quarter and 28-6 at the half. PT led 35-6 after 3 and Graves played a really good late 3rd and 4th quarter.

Graves possessed the ball for an overwhelming majority of the 2nd half, in part due to a PT special teams touchdown and an onside kick recovery. PT's offense didn't have a whole lot of 2nd half plays.

PT has to get these insane amounts of penalties corrected. Many, many of them being automatic first downs the first 2 weeks. Although I say it, doesn't mean a whole lot, they may have to win some games in spite of them.

I still expect Graves to have a respectable season. Lot of good players. They just always seem to have a turnover or two at the worst time, even going back through several games last year.  Still a lot of season left to improve on.

I might also add, I can't think of another game I've been to ending this late. Even with the 8:30 start, this one nearly lasted 3 hours.

All the penalties were very frustrating,we put Graves on the goal line twice with penalties!

Yes! The penalties are adding up at an alarming rate. I was listening to the Graves postgame show on the way home and he made mention of what you said about the penalties helping them out some. He said Tilghman had 6 personal foul penalties just in the second half not including all the others.

We'll have to wait and see the stats of this game, but PT has to be pretty close in yards allowed for the season and penalty yardage assessed.

Tilghman is very athletic and very good team. We have got to clean up the mistakes. We have shown flashes of what we could be at times against PT and Mayfield. I did not know Marrs was playing. Definitely could tell he wasn’t 100% but it was nice seeing him back.

I still think we can challenge Owensboro in 3 weeks at home but we have a long way to go.

@gcbleedblue the way Owensboro played today y’all might win. Better come with a heavy dose of passing as CAL and BG passed all over us. If running is your go to, it might be tough sledding.

I think you all definitely can. If Graves plays a clean game, they will be a tough out for a lot of people. There are a lot of pieces to work with.

Coach Gregory on the postgame show made mention that the punter tonight wasn't the normal Graves punter, but I thought he did a terrific job for the most part. He said he was supposed to kick those away from Carter Jr and you could tell he may have been just a little frustrated about that.

PT has everything you could want. They have every goal infront of them to achieve. I do agree with the concern for the number of penalties but I don't see that going away unfortunately.

Watching them on the field and more importantly watching the sidelines-- there is a lot of energy and emotion and while I think both of those are good things they can also get the best of the kids and coaches at times.
