Paducah Tilghman 42 McCracken County 7

Featured Replies

Tilghman jumped out to a 35-0 halftime lead and cruised through to victory. McCracken scored their lone touchdown with less than 6 minutes left in the game. It was sloppy and ugly by both teams. Way too many penalties by both teams. Definitely a 1st game of the season type game. Lots to clean up for both of them as they prepare for next week's games.

Tilghman has won 4 in a row and now lead the series 7-3 against the Mustangs.

Good to see McCracken and PT with lots of kids on the sidelines. Both have a lot to look forward to this year!

I really expected PT to look better on offense. They have a lot of talent at every position including the OL. If they are going to live up to the hype they will need stronger game planning (including fewer penalties), better play calling and consistent execution/effort.

Very tough schedule ahead but a team full of talent that have a lot of game experience the past few years. They have everything they need.

A lot of positives for McCracken. More kids are out. They gave good effort the entire game. If they stay positive and focus on continuing to improve they will have a lot of success.

Since I'm getting good at having to correct myself, that's 5 in a row in the series for PT, not 4.

I agree. I think McCracken has been better in the 2nd half of the season every year they've been a program. They notoriously start slow for some reason.

PT and Mayfield in week 1 looked very similiar. The scoreboard looked good for both but I'd be willing to say both coaching staffs believe they were way below where they need to be despite scoring a few points.

I agree. PT and Mayfield both have a ways to go to get to where they wanna be. The exciting part is that they will find out all about each other very soon.

McCracken County, once a top ten team in 6A, is out in the wilderness. They need to get their compass and find their way out of the wilderness. Score of this game indicates they aren't even close to getting out of the wilderness.

Previous regime really hurt McCracken, the numbers just ended up being far below where they need to be for a 6A program.

Very much the case. Not only did the roster size drop significantly at the high school during that time but also at the feeder levels as well.

Seeing the number of kids on their sidelines last night was encouraging. Still a lot of work to do. Need to grow the staff at each level as well.

McCracken needs stability. They are on their 4th head coach in there 11 season history.
