Scott County at Bowling Green 8/4 Scrimmage Results

Featured Replies

The Cardinals made the long drive to BG tonight for 2 quarters of varsity scrimmage and perhaps 1 quarter of JV scrimmage (I left towards the end of the 3rd quarter/end of the JV Quarter. The varsity portion was tied 21-21.
Honestly, both teams made plays and both team teams made mistakes, which you’d expect for August.
For Scott County, love their QB. He is very deceptive. He did throw a pick 6, but so did Bailey. It’s August. The SC running game looked good but not great. Love the SC CBs. They are athletic. Coach McKee does a great job and they will be really good by the end of the year.

For BG, RB #1 Javen Huddleston is still out. But that allowed a couple promising Sophomores to step in and I thought they competed well with good speed. Deuce Bailey played well except for his pick 6. SR WR Easton Barlow went down with an ankle injury. Hope he is ok to go by the Raffertys Bowl but he may not be.
Although the defense has work to do, they we really solid in stints here. Lot of new guys on the lines for BG. Their development is key for them this year. Many looked good tonight.  Others need work. Such is August!

I do think these are the top 2 teams in 5A to start the year  Doesn’t meant they will stay there though

On to scrimmage Male next week.

Did SC return a lot of starters?

8 on offense and 8 defense starters returned.

Thinking of senior Air Force commit Easton Barlow. Obviously it is just speculation at this point until the MRI is done, but from what I am hearing they are fearing Achilles tendon. Hoping and wishing for the absolute best for such a fine young man.

That's what it kinda looked like, he planted the foot and immediately went down.

Initially I thought it was an ACL but they iced his ankle. Fingers crossed.

Any word on Barlow?

Crickets. I'd say most will get an update sometime this week depending on when his MRI took place.

Well here's hoping it's just a strain and not a tear.
