SDSU has to find ways to get more shots in the paint. Play through contact like they did on that play where they drew the foul on Clingan.

 

Nice start to the second half for SDSU. They are getting shots in the paint, drawing fouls, making U Conn work slower on offense. If SDSU can keep this going at this tempo, they can get within 6 at the 12 minute timeout.

This game is boring. 

UConn has too much strength and too much height to attack inside. Aztecs need a shooter to get hot otherwise this will stay a 12 point game and UConn will grind it out inside to the buzzer.

Grinding defense on both ends. That's why these two are playing for the title. SDSU just doesn't have enough shooters to win this.

I agree. It's been pretty much as I expected. SDSU needs some fire from behind the arc.

Attacking inside is how they can get shots but do they have anyone other than Seko that can hit a 3?

I think we're talking the same language just in a different accent. If shots at the basket level are your plan you will lose that against UConn. Drive to pass to setup shooters has to be the plan.

Yes, but they are having success in the paint. SDSU's style is wearing U Conn down. They have disrupted U Conn's rhythm on offense.

They're defense has absolutely been a reason they're getting points. But they needed them couple shots to fall to get some space in the paint. 

 

Anyways, just happy to see it become a game. 

The air went out of the arena with the missed free there by SDSU to cut it to 7 and potentially 6. Take care of the ball, make free throws, game over now for UConn.
