I don't see Bellevue matching up with the Breds very well soNCC should handle this easily with Cundiff and Klei.

Anyone who saw this game woud not question the outcome. Bellevue took a double digit lead early and maintained it throughout the game. The Tigers' guards did a very good job containing the Ludlow shooters and Merritt and Slater basically owned the inside. Ludlow has a nice team but they were not ever in control of this particular game and looked a little overmatched at times. Maybe it was just a bad game but . . .

Ludlow had the same scenario as last year in the All A. A bunch of Ludlow faithful got on here and complained about them not receiving respect then NCC goes out and beats them by 32.

Really? Well let me see I bet you would be saying the same thing if your team was beating other teams that people were talking about. I have heard people say things about Villa, St.Henry, Dixie, etc. but not say anything good about Ludlow. Even though Ludlow goes out and beat those teams by double digits. So yeah that is not showing Ludlow any respect at all. Yeah it was the same way last year as well, because last year Ludlow was beating teams that people always wanted to talk about including your newport team last year, and yet still no one said anything about them. So the Ludlow faithful has plenty of reason for saying they dont get any respect because they should be getting alot more respect than they do. Also If you have seen I have not said anywhere that I have thought that Ludlow would beat NCC, because I know NCC is a great team and that is why I said NCC is definitely the favorite to win it. However me and most people did expect Ludlow to make the finals and it just did not happen. Bellevue came out and played a great game and dominated throughout and they deserved to win....

I was not at the game, but from what I heard you are right, Bellevue pretty much controlled the whole game and was the better team last night...However I think we will see who really is the better team when these two teams play again on tuesday, and then again later in the season. Because these two teams still have to play each other 2 more times in conference play, and I really think we will see a different outcome in those games...

Why should Ludlow have won this game? Ludlow, nor many teams in NKY, have an answer for Merrit and the guards do pretty good against the same level of talent. I would have bet on Bellevue and took the points they would have been getting in this game.

 

It is the same old story w/Ludlow, who have they played this yr? They are very talented and athletic against the small schools and beat Scott/Dixie who let's face it, are struggling this yr against everybody.

 

Because Ludlow is the better team and they should have won. Yeah Bellevue came out and played a great game yesterday and controlled the whole game and deserved to win. As I said I wasn't at the game, but everyone I talked to admits Bellevue controlled the whole game. But I also heard that Ludlow seemed to come out a little flat, and it might have been a case in overlooking them. Because they had come off of a very good win over Holy Cross, and was expected to make the finals now, and they just came out and didn't play their best at all, and didn't deserve to win.

 

Its funny how you say Ludlow hasn't beaten anyone, and yeah they haven't beaten any of the top 5 or 7 schools in the region, and not many people have been arguing that they would. However the reason why Ludlow fans say they get no respect, is because teams that they beaten by double digits are teams that people still talk about more than they do Ludlow. Ludlow has beated alot of teams the last 2 years that people still talk about more than Ludlow and dont seem to want to give them credit for those wins. People had been talking about how Villa was very good this year, and well Ludlow goes out and beats them by double digits. St. Henry has been a team that people talked about, and thats another team that Ludlow beat by double digits. Then in the gallentin county tournament, they hung right in there with Carroll County for alot of the game who is one of the better teams in the 8th region and have a player going to WKU. So even though Ludlow hasn't really played any of the top 5 or 7 teams, Ludlow has played some pretty good teams that should give them more respect than they get...

 

As for you saying you would have betted on Bellevue in that game. I know I would like to take that bet with you for tuesdays game when they play again. Also I would like to take that bet when they play again later in the season. I think we will see who the better team is the next two times they play again and by who ends up being conference champs at the end of the year...

I wasn't there but I would love to hear what happened in the Ludlow/Bellevue game. Ludlow gets no respect according to their fans but lose to Bellevue, who I think is pretty good for the small schools. They are real good inside w/Merrit, second to only Dickman at the post position, IMO. They have guards who are dangerous when hot from 3 point land. Watch out NCC!

 

I got a question for you. If Ludlow beats Bellevue the next two times they play this year, are you going to be given them the same love you are giving Bellevue right now? You have been very quick to put down Ludlow, yet I believe this is the first good win Bellevue has this year, and now you go out and say watch out NCC. You are talking them up like they can play with most teams in the region. Yet you said Ludlow would lose again by 20 or 30 to NCC like last year. So if Ludlow goes out and beats Bellevue the next two games, and shows that Ludlow really is the better team and just had a really bad game. Then are you going to showing them all the love that you are giving Bellevue right now and start saying watch out NCC or whoever?

Take a deep breath. Ludlow and Bellevue split lopsided games last year and I believe finished co-champs of the Division III. This year Ludlow had the better record but Bellevue had the much tougher schedule getting blown out by some very good teams. So maybe Bellevue winning was a upset but its not like it was a huge upset. Ludlow may very well win in conference play especially at home but I tend to think both teams may have wanted a win to get into the All-A final more than a Division III win.

 

Now both teams have a chance to advance in district play too so the season isn't going to end after the All-A. Ludlow will get their love by finishing out their season strong and Bellevue and the other schools will get their's by doing the same. A sign that a team has advanced to the next level is they (players/coaches/fans) stop worry about respect and just go out and win games. You won't see Boone, ND, NCC, Highlands etc worry about rankings or respect they know that its a long season and getting better is the goal. It's all good.

First of all let me say that part I bolded you are right. I got you confused with somebody else who said that so my fault on that...However I do disagree with you on the part that you have not put Ludlow down at all.

Here are two direct quotes from you, and these are putting down Ludlow. Yeah you tried to make it look better by saying they do good against small schools, but only after you put them down. Asking who they have played this year is questioning how good they are and that is putting them down. Then by saying ludlow gets no respect according to their fans and then lose to bellevue is a definite put down no matter what you want to say, and that is why I responded the way I did.

Ok I never said it was a huge upset, I just said it was an upset. Because Ludlow was the team that everyone thought would win this game, and that is why it would be an upset, its not that hard to understand people..And I do agree I think the teams would rather have a win in the All "A" than a conference win. However whoever won that game is only going to end up being runner up in the All "A" while the 2 remaining games between the two will determine who will be champions, and Ludlow is already one game ahead of them in conference play because Bellevue lost to Villa, a team Ludlow beat by 14. So thats another reason why its kind of easy to look at this as an upset.

 

Ha that part I bolded I just think is funny, because schools like that could be terrible and people would like to give them credit and respect, so of coarse they dont worry about respect because they are automatically given it just because of their name..As I have said a few times, there has been no one from Ludlow saying that Ludlow should be put in the same sentences as Boone, NDA,NCC, etc when it comes to best in the region. The thing that gets the Ludlow people and me the most mad and the reason why say Ludlow gets no respect is when teams that Ludlow beat a few times and also by double digits still get talked about more than Ludlow does, and that is no respect no matter what you all want to say about it...
