January 24, 200719 yr If any mod wants to edit my prior post to make it clear what portion of that was mine and what portion was SS's please do so, as I don't want to mislead or confuse anyone or have someone think that my portion was attributable to SS in fairness to SS. I'm sure I could learn, but haven't. I'm one of the about 10% of attorneys who don't type their own docs anymore, because I always mess up the format and micros (whatever that is, or is it macros?). The paragraph numbering gets messed up. I hit the wrong keys and whole sections get deleted. I don't close docs properly and all gets lost. Its way too easy to write it out and let my secretary do her job. And if ignorance is bliss, when it comes to these type of things, I'm truly "blissful". I'm glad Mom is a mod and I would never, never call Mom a sucker (I'm afraid of her, if for no other reason than she'll cut off my allowance).
January 25, 200719 yr Again, not saying right or wrong but there is a cost. The cost is to the rest of the taxpaying public. Just to clarify.
January 27, 200719 yr Another problem is, is that you can not build a school for future growth. At least you can not get state funding for future growth. That is why by the time a new school is built it will be overcrowded. And yes with the SEEK formula if Boone raises county property taxes, the amount raised will be reduced from their state funding. This leaves more money for "poorer" districts to receive from the state.
