They are on a very tough side of the bracket, but who knows how it will turn out. Maybe the week without Moore helped his teammates and they will be at the top of their game Monday. 

It seem like neither team could take advantage last night When Teagan was in or out. The game was 3 or 4 points one way or the other the whole game.

Either way, great win for the Braves, but the big question here is how they build on this with the tough schedule they have ahead. 
For Owen County, they attend the All ‘A’ State Tournament later this week, and you see these loses right before the tournament year in and year out. Team is excited to travel down and get to play on the “big stage” in a college arena, and look right past their opponents the days before. I can’t take much away from Owen County for this loss, but if they underperform in the tournament later this week, I will definitely have some things to think about.

All reasonable. Curious as to who you think has the strongest to weakest resume so far this year- Grant, Owen, Spencer and SK.  Clearly North and Collins 1 and 2.  Not taking perceived post season potential into account, but based purely on performance this year.

Strongest resume in the 8th Region is 100% North Oldham, and no one is touching it no matter their schedule to end the season. That stretch they have on Christmas break was probably one of the toughest in the state, and they only lost 2 games. 

A weakest resume is hard to judge. Do you mean weakest resume including losses, so like everyone in the region, or just the weakest out of the top 9-10 teams with a good amount of wins?

Just those 4 teams. Grant. SK. Owen. Spencer. For me, I’d take into account head to head. Good wins, good losses, bad wins, bad losses- which basically takes into account strength of schedule and margins. Obviously very subjective. 

I would think that out of the teams you listed, Grant would have to be the weakest. They have some very good wins, though they have struggled in the region to pick them up. 

My list of the teams you names:

1. North Oldham

2. Collins 

3. Simon Kenton

4. Owen County

5. Spencer County 

6. Grant County 

Weakest schedule is Owen County out of top 5 teams. They play their district opponents 13-14 time including all-a and reg season and districts.  That’s 13 games against very poor competition that will make any team look good.  Yes I realize that have to play them but the other 12-13 games should be against really good competition.  N.Luarel/GRC are both good games for them.  I also think Anderson county’s non-district schedule is really weak this year.

The first two are easy. Again super subjective but for me, I would struggle to put Owen and Spencer ahead of grant- unless the ONLY two basis are head to head - although they spit with Owen and region games only. Grant has more really good wins, more good wins, zero bad losses.  Spencer best win is grant- who can’t really be that great of a win?  Outside grant they have one win against a team with a winning record all year - 10-9 Oldham and they won by 2.  Owen- beat walton and grant- that’s it. SK does have a couple nice wins- but a few head scratching losses. Again, not right or wrong answer just interesting. The SK love on this board is real. I just don’t see it but I could be wrong…

I get what you are saying, but it is the competitive factor. Before this weekend, Grant was getting blown out by ever single team they played above them. Owen County defeated Grant by double digits, defeated Spencer by 20, defeated Walton-Verona by 18. Along with this, losses came to #9 in the state North Laurel, #14 in the state Collins, and 2 losses at a Christmas tournament. 

Spencer has defeated Oldham County, Woodford County, and Grant County. They as well have 2 losses o top-20 teams in the state. 

Grant County blew out Oldham County, and inside the 8th region haven't had another good win. (Owen County did not play Teagan Moore at his full capability last night). They have lost to Owen County by 16, Collins by 25, SK by 12, and Spencer County. 

I based this majorly off an 8th region resume, because I do not have fair judgement on each win for every team. However if I did, I would probably agree that Grant would be on top. 

 

For the SK hype, I 100% understand it. They have a 7 footer and a few inches (not getting into a height argument on this one) that camps out in the paint, making it really tough for teams to score inside. This allows all of their guards to spread out in their zone, making it tougher on shooters to get a shot off. It also allows them to be more aggressive and gamble more. Offensively, they are sound but not great, this is where my questions come into play. Travis Krohman is an underrates player in the region, and is really smooth with the ball. He can hit a shot, and fly by you if you sell out on his 3 point shot. If he flies bye you he can either go in for a layup, stop and hit a jumper, or lob it up to Dynes in the paint.
