9th region re-visited at the midway point

WOW ... shortdad ... i certainly didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I could care less where any of the girls play. Neither of my daughters play basketball and they attend Campbell co.. I have coached girls who are playing at BC, ND and Conner. I never root for one over the other. I was simply stating a fact that I wonder how good they would be with all of those other girls who all live or lived within 3 miles of each other would be. Quit trying to read into stuff and stick to facts.

First of all the Newport/Dayton winner COULD be the 36th runner-up if Belleveue, Highlands, and NCC all draw in the same bracket. And yes Ludlow could beat the winner of that game in the region and be in the final 4.

Second, yes there are teams that can beat Boone Co and Notre Dame in the region tourney. While those two are the clear favorites NCC, Conner (at home), Holmes, and Highlands would all have a chance depending on the draw and the match-ups.

Last years Regional final was not a basketball clinic by any means. And basically by the time the final comes teams teams are exhausted and tight so upsets do happen.

I appoligize for forgetting that some districts still use the blind draw which is another good thread to start. I wasn't meaning to put it in stone that those teams were the runner-ups, I was just asking a question to the Ludlow fans if they thought they could beat those three teams if that was the outcome.

I realize regular season games don't mean much come tourney time nor does a teams record but the 9th region fans will find out soon how good the before teams you mention are as Boone plays 3/4 in the next few week. Boone spanked Holmes in the XMAS tourney already. Time will tell!

Good luck to all!

I watched Conner early in the year and pretty welll wrote them off but it appears as though they have found there way back. Long has really stepped it up and earned her playing time. Nice to see hard work pay off. The next few weeks should be interesting in the 9th to see who are the contenders versus who are the pretenders.

If I'm not mistaken the Conner Jr/Sr's both won the Freshman tourney when they were Freshman, so, obviously they can win since they are playing the most of the same girls from each school.

Sometimes that can be a dangerous assumption especially in Girls basketball because so many Frosh (and sometimes 7th and 8th graders) are playing Varsity and not Frosh ball.

Quite right there. How many frosh teams are all frosh this year. The Birds are not.

Let me restate my comments. When Stevie Stellman was a true Freshman, playing Freshman, her team won the Freshman championship which would be this Sr class along w/Sam and Stephanie. I am pretty sure when Sam and Stephanie were Freshman, they too won the Freshman championship.

Is that better? It is amazing how people assume that everybody that post on here is a complete idiot and does not understand anything that goes on in athletics. Anyone who has watches a high school sporting event, I assume, realizes that there are usually under classmen playing up at all levels.
