Massey Ratings (12/12) Discussion

Featured Replies

⛹️ Second week of the girls' season is complete. Any thoughts on the latest rankings by Massey ?

Lots of familiar faces from the last several years still percolating to the top. Still too early to judge? Any team below the top 20 deserve to be higher? If so, why? Who's hot and who's not?

Three games tonight (Mon.) featuring four ranked teams.

#6 Anderson County (4-0) vs  #18 Montgomery County (5-0)

#8 Clark County (3-1, the L vs #13 Mercy at Dixie Heights) vs Madison Central (4-0)

#12 Manual (3-1, a win vs #13 Mercy, the L at #1 SHA) at Fern Creek (3-1, the L to #221 Moore)

That is way too high for Notre Dame, and as much as I believe they have the best coach in the 9th, I don't think you could have them higher than 3rd in the region at this point.

Seems too high for Simon Kenton, but I certainly like what Coach Stowers is doing in Independence.

Montgomery County is far too low.

On tap for Tuesday 12/13 ~

✓ Tonight's best matchups:

#11 Ryle hosts Ohio #1 Mount Notre Dame

#7 Cooper at Ohio #14 Purcell Marian

#17 Dixie Heights at #20 Simon Kenton

• Also:

#1 Sacred Heart at Highlands Latin

Whitefield Academy at #2 Bullitt East

#3 Notre Dame at Walton-Verona

#4 Owensboro Catholic at Whitesville Trinity

#5 McCracken County at Daviess Co.

#6 Anderson Co. at Shelby Co.

Christian Co. at #16 Bowling Green

Butler at #19 CAL

Cooper blasted Mt. Notre Dame, so it will be interesting to see how Ryle plays them.  MND is really talented, but they lost a LOT from last year, so they may be gettable.  Ryle needs their big 4 to be great.

Purcell has a Top 10 player in the Sophomore class nationally, she'll be, by far, the best player on the court, will be interesting to see how Cooper defends her.  She is really quick, so will be a challenge for Whitney Lind, but I'm sure Holthaus will have a great plan on that end.  Do we know if Logan and Kay are playing?  If not, that will become a very daunting task.

Mercy is WAY WAY WAY too low.

Their loss was to a very good Manual team and they played without Leah Macy, who is one of the top players in the State.

Games should be taken in context. Final scores plugged into a computer do not tell the whole story.

Just spoke to a MND parent who had a list longer than my arm for why the Cooper game went the way it did.   Let's just say they are SUPREMELY confident about getting Ryle tonight.  Should be a good one!!  Go Raiders!!!!!!

Agreed. Fun to see my team rated high but this goes to show that these things don’t mean much this early in the season.
