I know one difference, this team doesn't have Anthony Honicker. That's a plus for any team that plays them this season.

Was it his older brother or cousin who played for Pikeville in the late 80’s early 90’s?

He played 87-90.  He was an OL/DL and went to UK and played DL.  Huge, strong and averaged like 3 sacks a game.

I thought Deathony played in 91. I know there was a Honicker who played against Beechwood in the 91 state game. He hardly did anything in that game. I’m pretty sure there was another who I played against in the 94 semis as well.

I played against him in 89 and 90.  I thought he graduated the the year before me, 91. But maybe not. 

I know it was a dry game, no rain and no mud but after the game you could not see the numbers on my jersey, and everyone else was clean.  We fought all night long.  

He averaged 3 sacks and like 10 tackles a game.  He had no sacks and two total tackles, and those were plays I pulled on, just say'n. lol

I will have to ask my Pikeville friends but I thought there was another Honicker who played on those three straight title teams.

Prognostication

In my mind, this is a three horse race, at this point.  Anything can happen and upsets make for exciting football.  I expect Holy Cross to beat Crittenden County, Newport Central Catholic to beat Kentucky County Day, Pikeville to beat Paintsville (again) and Raceland to beat Hazard. 

Who do you think will move on from Round 3?  Do you have any one different advancing? 

I may be wrong and I hope that I am but I truly think it is Pikevile and everyone else is a distant second.
