Nicholasville Dripping With Mr. Football Implications As Goodin And Jones Square Off

Records: Collins (6-2) | West Jess (3-5)

Series History: Collins leads 3-2 all-time

Table Setter: Anyone that follows the Mr. Football Watchlist knows this one has been circled on the calendar for two months, ever since Kenyon Goodin and Jacob Jones made the deepest individual impressions of Week 1. Jones had been on an incredible tear, seemingly pulling away from Goodin before being shut down by Madison Southern last week. It was the first "flinch" by either player this year. While West Jess was getting worked by MadSouth, Goodin was creating problems for Woodford County. Collins fell in the end, but it was a +1 for Goodin in the pursuit of Mr. Football.

The two star quarterbacks are not alone. Dalton Carter has been Jones' wingman this season, ranking among the statewide leaders in receiving yards and receptions. Goodin looks to receiver Darius Evans more than anyone else, resulting in Evans' position among 5A's receiving leaders.

The common opponents (WOFO and MadSouth) suggest favorite status for the Titans. The two split a pair of meetings last year, with Jones and West Jess getting the better of Collins in the playoffs, despite nearly 400 yards of offense and five touchdowns from Goodin.

The skies over Nicholasville should illuminate this Friday night, courtesy of the two man fireworks display at West Jessamine High School and visible for miles in every direction.

West Jess gives up something close to 737 points a game, so I'm going with Collins in this one.

2 of the best dual qbs in the State will go head to head, this should be a good game. Collins wins 49-35.

Isn't Jacob Jones injured now?

All I know, is that he finished the game against MadSouth and showed no signs that I could see of favoring any part of his body.

All Colts in the third frame.

The quality of the video of this game is excellent. Good announcing, instant replays and good camera work. Best I've seen tonight.

If I've got one complaint, the cameras don't track deep balls well, if at all. Otherwise, great production and commentary.
