Any idea why they played 8 minute quarters? I though 10 was the standard at the freshman level.

Coaches option. Usually it is 10 minutes but coaches can agree to go 8 minutes.

We were told a few weeks back when we were playing Campbell Co. when we requested 10 min quarters that it's a KHSAA State rule for Freshman Football for 8 min quarters. I honestly didn't know that. Both coaches agreed to 10 min quarters but the officials decided otherwise.

Thank you.  That’s a bummer, those 2 extra minutes give the game a different feel. Good to know though.
