This Friday night the Bulldogs of PLD make the trip across town to "The Farm" to take on the Broncos of Frederick Douglass. The Bulldogs will attempt to break the stranglehold and streak that Douglass has had on not only the other 5 public high schools in Lexington, but all schools. So far in their now 5+ seasons the Broncos are now 24-0 vs. the other 5 city schools after last weeks forfeit by Lafayette and 26-0 vs all Lexington schools.

The Broncos (3-0) due to the forfeit last played on Aug. 26 where they defeated Tates Creek 57-8. The Bulldogs (1-2) are coming off back to back losses after an opening season win over East Jessamine. The Bulldogs lost a tough one to 6A Madison Cent two weeks ago 29-28. This past Friday the Bulldogs got throttled by a very good Woodford Co. 43-14.

PLD has been lead on offense so far by junior QB Ethan Teall who has thrown for 521 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Bulldogs leading rusher so far is senior RB Cole Conley who has rushed for 324 yards and 5 touchdowns. On defense their leading tackler so far as been senior DB Grant Angel who has had 19 solo tackles in 3 games.

With last week off Douglass comes into game fully healthy for the most part is ready to get back out and play some football. This I think will not bode to well for the Bulldogs look for the Broncos to improve to 4-0 this season and 25-0 vs city schools and 27-0 overall and also probably their 17th running clock vs these schools. The kickoff is scheduled for 6:30pm. The game will be broadcast on the NFHS Network.

Douglass scores to cap off a over 7 minute drive the extra point is no good and with 4:32 left in the first quarter Douglass leads 6-0.

Douglass gets the ball back after a big punt return deep into Bulldog territory by Ty Bryant. A rushing touchdown by Horton. The two point conversion is no good. Douglass leads 12-0 late in the first quarter.

I agree with @Hungover_in_Andovernot playing since Aug. 26th the Broncos look very rusty especially on offense so far.

Tresean Benford with a 70 yard interception for a touchdown the two point conversion is good the Broncos lead now 20-0 with 10 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

Another touchdown by the Broncos this on a two yard run by Ty Bryant the extra point is good and with 2:02 left in the first half Douglass leads 27-0.

The Bulldogs get on the board aided by four or five 15 yard penalties on the Broncos the extra point is good with 8:06 left in the 3rd quarter Frederick Douglass leads 27-7.

Douglass answers right back in less than two minutes with a touchdown and now the score is 34-7 Douglass.

The Broncos get a 20 yard touchdown catch by Tylon Webb the extra point is good and with 3:02 left still in the 3rd quarter Douglass now leads 41-7.

Another Bronco touchdown this one by Cam Dunn the extra point is good to make it 48-7 Broncos. At least the Bulldogs can say that Douglass did not get to a running clock until the first play in the 4th quarter.

Douglass scores one last touchdown with just under a minute to play to make 54-7.
