January 5, 200719 yr Jacksonville, FL just got another ABA team, it likely won't last long. Why would anyone here care about an ABA team from Florida? Because I read an article where Myron Anthony, the greatest player in the history of UK basketball is playing for the Jacksonville team. Yes, there is a tad bit of sarcasm there. I got a chance to see Myron play in high school and he actually went up against some guy from Daytona Beach named Vince Carter a few years in the playoffs. Vince's team won each time, but they were neck and neck for Mr Basketball in Florida around that time. Just sad to see how things turned out for him, but life goes on I guess.
January 5, 200719 yr A few notes after looking at the aba site: 1. Marcus Liberty - Chicago Rockstars - Isn't this guy like 47 or something? I know he played for the Nuggets back in the day. 2. You need to check out the page for the Tampa Bay Strong Dogs. It's one of the more pitiful things I've seen. 3. The Anderson Champions apparently elected for a myspace site instead of a traditional site. 4. Do they really have teams in Beijing and Tijuana? 5. The websites in general leave a lot to be desired. 6. Marcus Liberty is the only guy I've ever heard of.
