Cordia 71 Hazard 64 (14th Region Quarterfinals)

Featured Replies

Cordia plays full throttle helter skelter  for 32 minutes in every game I’ve seen them play this year. Sometimes that style works out good for them and sometimes it doesn’t.
They were down 14 points just before the 3rd quarter ended but in the last quarter forced Hazard into a bunch of turnovers and they converted many of these turnovers into points. Freshman guard Greg Brookes heated up from 3 point land and spearheaded the comeback. The Lions owned the fourth quarter and won by 7 points. Brookes scored 28 to lead Cordia. He’s a darn good guard and probably doesn’t get the recognition in our region that he deserves. The kid can play.

We all kind of made fun of Cordia after they gave up 128 and 113 points in back-to-back games, but the Lions have played very well since then, winning 10 of their last 12.

Yeah, they have made some adjustments.

No surprise here at all, strength of schedule always tells the story come tourney time.
