Final from Ashland Blazer.

Ashland point guard Colin Porter returned tonight after being out for several games due to an injuried shoulder.  Playing for 19 minutes, Porter scored 16 points while dishing out 14 assists  and only turning the ball over 1 time.  I'm sue the Tomcats are very happy to get him back.

Henceforth, these games will be known as a baby buggy.

e.g. Ashland is going to baby buggy them in this one.

Ashland is not yet at full strength with Porter back from injury today and Villers not playing.  Ashland did have an easy game with the starters only logging 68 minutes of a possible 160 minutes of playing time.

I don’t see them beating Boyd Co by the same numbers as the regular season especially since Russell was able to beat them and Ik Ashland was short handed but it gives a little light to everyone in the 16th region that they’re not unbeatable.

I don't know what to tell you except that Ashland is not the same team with Porter and Villers both out of the lineup. I can also tell you that with Porter anywhere near 100% he will find a way to get the ball to who ever can score. Whether he is scoring or not, Porter adds a completely different dynamic to Ashland's offense and their opponent's defense.  Ashland also has three players who can come off the bench and score 20+ points against a good team. With that all being said, all I have remaining to say is, "yes Boyd County could win but I don't think it will happen".

I hope Cole Villers will be able to play some in the rest of the tournaments. The young man has had such a fantastic career and I’d like to see him finish his high school basketball on the court doing what he loves. He’s been injured for most of the season and has missed quite a few games or played at half speed in the games he has played.
I agree with Addout, Porter and Villers are HUGE difference makers on this Tomcats team. Both were All State last year and both will play D1. When they’re not in the lineup it has big effects, particularly Porter due to his PG role. He is the straw that stirs the drink and makes Ashland go, go, go and then go some more.
