They can make the NIT. It's going to take a lot of work, but that's the limit this year...

UC started out very poorly, they got behind early, gave the Bobcats confidence and never found a consistent offensive game. Walther really brought the rain down with his three point shots.

Cronin has said many times what he expects from this team, and I've never heard him mention the Tournament as a goal. As he said in the post game interview tonight... "We've been competitive this year not because of our talent, not because of our experience and not because of our depth. Because we have none of the three at a Big East level. We've been competitive because of our defensive effort on the floor." They didn't play their game today, and they lost. The margin is thin, and Mick knows it. Next time I get the chance to interview him, I'll ask him about his NCAA expectations. Should be a fun reply...

So how does it hurt? Ohio is a solid team and UC didn't play well. At 9-4 they are way ahead of schedule. It could be a LOT worse...

While there is an outside, outside chance of UC making a postseason tournament. They make the NCAA and Mick Cronin should be hands down the Big East, NCAA, Coach of the Year.
