Very fun game to watch.  VH is a very deep and athletic team.  They subbed 4-5 at a time and pressed most of the game.  This caused Highlands some trouble.  It was a back and forth game and VH depth wore down the guards from Highlands.

The Miller kid, #0, from VH is legit and has great size for a guard.

They are a very good team and this was a fun game to watch, minus the outcome.  Birds back at it vs Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy tonight:

I totally agree with @throwback32this was a fun game to watch.  I felt like it had the speed and energy of Highlands game against Walton Verona.  I think Highlands biggest lead was 5 or 6 and VH biggest lead was like 8 or so (and that didn't happen until the 4th qtr I think).

A few key takeaways I noticed was some crucial turnovers, I don't think we had a ton but the ones we had were such poor timing turnovers of just sloppy (mental) play when you are playing against a very energetic fast paced team.  Also our recovery defense, so many times we would make a basket VH would already have the ball past mid court going to the basket with numbers.

Unfortunately, how Barth was golden dribbling to the lane and doing what i feel like is his signature move with the pull up 7 footer in the Taft game last week, it was just not falling for him tonight, which was big!

2 subs that I thought played really well last night was Benke, he had some nice put backs up at the rim, grabbed some nice rebounds.  This kid has so much potential if he just grows more and more confidence on the floor.  I felt like he was the biggest body on the floor when he was out there and he needs to use that to his advantage more.  The other player I thought that had a nice game off the bench was Seth Ryan.  He seems so smooth with the ball, again the potential he has is big, had a really nice backdoor cut that was sweet.

Some side note drama:  I know he was mentioned above but that #0 from VH had a pretty smack talk mouth with a few players from Highlands, I am sure it went back and forth but #0 was by far the lone culprit from VH it seemed.  At one time I thought Leyton Reed and him were going to go at it.  Fast forward to the end of the game handshakes, all of a sudden you saw Coach Orme escorting #0 away from the Highlands players toward the VH Coach (I am sure politely) to go back to his team and stop running his mouth.....drama drama...

Looking forward to tonight's match ups.  It will be interesting to see how Cooper fairs against VH, noticed Cooper has a very TALL kid so it will be interesting to see if that causes VH any issues...

I think it will be a big stamina test for all 4 teams tonight, with Cooper and CHCA going into OT and Highlands and VH literally sprinting the whole game.  The teams with the best conditioned athletes will win tonight....

I have to add that @859Radiodid another fantastic job with the game last night.

A side note though in the 1st half poor Mark had to deal with some knuckleheads (assuming from Alabama) emailing in like it was the bar on the Simpson's with ridiculous names and comments that was stated before realizing the phonetic humor.  I have a feeling the emails kept coming as well b/c finally Mark was like "not going to read any more emails so you can stop".  I am just curious, How many emails did you get?

Again, thanks for all you do in the 859 @859Radio !!!  See you tonight.

Just a few, but I don't think they were from Alabama.  I think they were local from someone wanting to hurt me or The (859).  Just my gut feel.  We're working on it.  With a freshman Color Commentator and an 8th Grade Camera Man on the mic and and out of town team, lots going on in the booth.  I let my guard down.  Won't happen again.  But they used a free form email option on the Meridix platform.  They are involved with assisting with it so this doesn't happen again.  They have been blocked.  I am embarrassed I let them get to me with their complaints but that was just a setup for the last email.  Will never happen again.  I should have been better than that.  I've learned a lot and continue to pursue it.  Really appreciate what you've said and continue to support us.
